Academic interests

My research mainly focuses on the evolution of endothermy in Amniota. I use various proxies, such as stable isotopes of oxygen and osteohistology, and phylogenetic comparative methods to investigate the thermophysiology of extinct species. I worked on early synapsids during my MSc thesis and on pseudosuchians during my PhD thesis. More recently, I was investigating the possible acquisition of endothermy at the node Amniota.
I am also heavily invested in the study of osteohistology in a whole and quantify histological variables in the bone of extinct species to inferred various biological features (such as lifestyle and growth rate).
I define myself as a systematist, too. I am working on a few theoretical works in phylogenetic reconstruction and am deeply invested in the French Society of Systematic, of which I am the general secretary.
My postdoc position is part of the ECHO project studying the convergent evolutionary history of cetaceans and ichthyosaurs. I use there my knowledge in osteohistology and phylogenetic comparative methods to study the convergence of various biological features (such as endothermy) between these wonderful groups.
