What really happens behind the exhibits at a museum? In the Museum Lab, we invite the public to get closer to the museum's research and work with the collections. This summer, the Museum Lab is dedicated to the world of fungi. Not only are mushrooms useful and fascinating, but they are also found everywhere!

  • Put on the lab coat and take a closer look at the mushroom body with a magnifying glass (the part of the mushroom that is usually invisible to the naked eye).
  • Study mushrooms in action as they break down various types of food.
  • In the workshop corner, you can create your own micro mushroom universe on paper. The mushrooms will only become visible when held up to the light. Take it home and show your friends and family!
  • Discover a small selection of the vast diversity of mushrooms that exist in the world.
  • Get answers to questions like: How do mushrooms actually live? How are they useful? What do mushroom researchers at the museum study?
  • Museum hosts with a lot of knowledge about mushrooms are present in the Museum Lab throughout opening hours.

The Museum Lab is drop-in based between 12-15 every day.
