Evolution of Life

A picture from an exhibit featuring a skeleton

Join us on a journey through time, from the earliest organisms to present-day life forms. Discover key evolutionary events in various animal and plant groups, encountering dinosaurs, whales, and humans along the way.

Earth and its life have evolved together through billions of years. Microorganisms, fungi, plants and animals are constantly adapting. Climate change, continental drift and great natural disasters send evolution in new directions.

Scientists strive to understand these processes, both to comprehend how we arrived at this point and to make predictions about the future. Fossils serve as vital clues for unraveling and comprehending the history of the Earth and life itself.

This exhibition consists of two large halls. Here, you can find snapshots of ecosystems throughout geological time, from the earliest organisms to present-day life forms. We also highlight some crucial evolutionary events in selected animal and plant groups.
