This event is designed to assist your understanding of biodiversity data usage and data citation.
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- Know different ways to access biodiversity data in GBIF.
- Be familiar with standard cleaning procedures when using biodiversity data in GBIF.
- Understand the pros and cons of GBIF data usage (compared to other forms of data).
- Be able to properly cite biodiversity data in GBIF that has been accessed.
Workshop Details
Who Should Attend: Students, MSs, PhDs, postdocs, researchers, and faculty at the University of Oslo who are interested in utilizing biodiversity data in their research or teaching. No prior experience with GBIF data is required.
What to Bring: A laptop, with R & RStudio installed.
Prerequisites: We'll work with R & RStudio during the workshop, but only a familiarity will be needed to follow along with the workshop material.
