The results of a new publication, Mast seeding in European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) is associated with reduced fungal sporocarp production and community diversity in Ecology Letters (doi.org/10.1111/ele.14460), produces "a novel hypothesis that mast seeding limits annual resource availability and reproductive investment in soil fungi."

Two BioDATA students from South Africa were selected for their internship at the University of Oslo Natural History Museum from February to April 2024. The internship for Raesibe Kgaphola was on biodiversity data of crop wild relatives and was supervised by Desalegn Chala.
Dr. Sabine von Mering from the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin joined us for a short guest researcher visit in Oslo in February 2024 including a Tangled Bank seminar at the museum and the the UiO Data Manager Network seminar at the University Library.
