Dr. Brecht Verstraete is an evolutionary botanist with a background in taxonomic, phylogenetic, and biogeographic research and a focus on African Rubiaceae. He obtained a PhD on plant-bacteria interactions at KU Leuven in Belgium and held postdocs at KU Leuven, Meise Botanic Garden, and the Natural History Museum of Denmark.
His main position is project manager of the project Plant.ID at the Natural History Museum, University of Oslo but he is also involved in other projects such as BioDATA.
