Charlotte Sletten Bjorå

My fields of interest in botany cover a wide range of plant groups and topics. My main interests are evolution and speciation, molecular systematics, historic biogeography, conservation and ethnobotany of selected plant groups.

As a herbarium curator I have also taken responsibility to write parts of several floras for countries like Botswana, Cameroon, Gabon, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Nordic countries. I have mainly worked with monocot families like Amaryllidaceae, Asparagaceae, Asphodelaceae, Cyperaceae, Zingiberaceae, but also on Cochlearia in Brassicaceae.  I find it important to communicate science to a wide audience and write regularly in national newspapers and take part in tv and radio programs.
