Emily Wabuyele

Dr. Emily Wabuyele took up a teaching job at the plant Sciences Department of Kenyatta University in 2014, having practiced biodiversity research at the National Museums of Kenya since 1995. She is interested in the knowledge of East African plants, particularly the succulent flora which she has studied extensively over the Eastern African region.

I am interested in capacity building and research in biodiversity for sustainable development in East Africa. My research focus is on systematics, population biology, evolution, genetic diversity and information management for sustainable utilisation of biodiversity. Dr. Wabuyele is an ardent champion of information sharing for sustainable utilization of biodiversity to help mitigate poverty, create wealth and facilitate the achievement of national and global environmental goals.
