The 2008 expedition

Applications for field work in 2008 were accepted by the authorities, and in July a field camp was established in the Knorringfjellet area overviewing the DeGeerdalen valley. The main purpose for the field work was to excavate a giant pliosaur which was discovered in 2006. Two smaller plesiosaurs were also recovered. As the previous specimens the new material was also fragmented and incomplete. These findings make it possible to reconstruct the fascinating fauna that existed in the Jurassic sea in this area.
