Conservation-genetics of Staurolemma omphalarioides (completed)

The lichen Staurolemma omphalaioides is found in restricted area of Norway, on the coast just south of the Arctic Circle. This is the only occurrence of the species north of the Alps, and the nearest Atlantic population is as far south as in Portugal. We investigate genetic diversity and phylogeographic pattern of this mostly Mediterranean species in order to evaluate the conservation value of the Norwegian populations.
