The lab services are available to UiO students and staff, and to external users from national and foreign universities, research institutes, industrial partners, and, under specific circumstances, amateur mineralogists and paleontologists.

UiO Master students are welcome to use our lab free of charges. UiO PhD candidates and Postdocs will be charged internal prices like any other UiO staff member (exceptions may apply depending on their funding status). Therefore, we incentive all UiO users to include lab/instrument fees in grant applications.

Operation of the instruments is restricted to trained personnel familiar with the analysis system, product documentation, general safety precautions and laboratory rules. New users need to undergo a training period before they are allowed to work with the instruments independently.
