Hovedanledningen for seminaret er at bestyrer ved stasjonen,
John Brittain, har gått over i pensjonistenes rekker. Vi ønsker med dette å hedre
John for hans store innsats for feltstasjonen og forskningen i Heimdalen gjennom
45 år. På seminaret får vi presentert siste nytt fra forskningsfronten om
utviklingen i Heimdalens temperatur- og isforhold, endringer i skoggrenser,
vannvegetasjon, bunnsedimenter og ørretbestand, samt hva fugleforskningen i
Heimdalen har lært oss om fuglenes kjønnsliv. Vi håper mange har lyst til å
komme for å få vite mer om Norges best studerte fjellvannsbiotop og
mulighetene for fremtidig forskning og innsamling til museets samlinger ved
NHMs flotte feltstasjon i Jotunheimen.
Det blir enkel bevertning fra kl. 11:30 og seminaret starter kl. 12:00
PÅMELDING SENEST FREDAG 17.MARS
Everyone at NHM is invited to a half-day seminar on research at the museum's
field station in Heimdalen. The main reason is that the manager of the station,
John Brittain, has now retired, and we wish to honour John for his huge
contribution to the station and the research in Heimdalen during the last 45
years. At the seminar, the latest research will be presented, including
temperature and ice conditions, treeline changes, aquatic vegetation,
paleolimnology and fish population dynamics, as well as what we have learnt
about bird sex life from research in Heimdalen. We hope that many of you will
come and hear more about Norway's best studied mountain lake and the
possibilities for future research and collecting opportunities at NHM's fantastic
field station in the Jotunheimen Mountains. Most of the presentations will be in
Norwegian, but some will be in English if there are English-speaking participants.
There will be a light lunch at 11:30. The seminar will start at 12:00
