Dr. Oleg Borodin works in the National Academy of Science of Belarus in the Scientific and Practical Center for Bioresources and also at the Belarusian State University at the Faculty of Biology. He is an entomologist, will study the Hemiptera group. Is the organizer of the database on the biodiversity of Belarus. O. Borodin is an expert in the field of biological diversity. He is engaged in studying this subject for more than 20 years. He is an author of more than 160 scientific publications, including monographs, on various questions of biological diversity. Is a member of all main councils and the working groups on questions of biological diversity in Belarus and many interstate councils for nature conservation. Oleg Borodin represented Belarus at various meetings of IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services), CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), CMS (Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals). Since 2015 he took part in the work of SBSTTA (Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice. Since 2018, he is an alternate member of the SBSTTA Bureau of the Biodiversity Convention. Since 2019 he is the GBIF Node Manager of Belarus.
