Anthony Geffen is one of the world's leading documentary producers and film makers. He began his career working for the BBC for ten years, before setting up Atlantic Productions in 1992. His films have won many of televisions most coveted awards including; Emmys, Baftas, Critics’ Guild awards and the New York and Chicago film festivals. His films are regularly broadcast in over forty countries.
While at the BBC his films included the critically acclaimed drama documentary ‘Hirohito: Behind The Myth’ (BBC/PBS) which became one of the BBC’s best selling documentaries; the Bafta award winning ‘The Last African Flying Boat’ (BBC/ABC); the documentary specials ‘Franco: Behind The Myth’ (BBC/A&E); ‘The Faces of Arafat’ (BBC/PBS) and ‘The Rise and Fall of the Ceaucecu’s’ (BBC/PBS) and the series ‘Great Journeys’ (BBC/PBS).
Since setting up Atlantic his many films include; the Emmy winning ‘Jerusalem: City of Heaven’ (Discovery); Bafta nominated ‘Munich: Mossad’s Revenge’ (Channel 4/Discovery) ; the acclaimed landmark series’ ‘The Promised Land’ (BBC/Discovery), ‘American Dream’ (BBC/Discovery) and ‘The Greeks: Crucible of Civilisation’ (BBC/PBS); two of Discovery’s highest rating specials ‘Nefertiti Resurrected’ and ‘Who Killed Tutankhamun’ and History Channels successful long running series ‘Lost Worlds’.
Recent acclaimed films include; ‘The Link’ (BBC/History/ZDF); ‘Predator X’ (History/ZDF/BBC WW) and ‘Egypt Unwrapped’ (National Geographic/Channel 5). Current productions include; the new David Attenborough series ‘The First Animals’; a eight part series on Rome for National Geographic and the feature documentary ‘The Wildest Dream’ with Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Natasha Richardson; a ninety minute cinema/Imax film to be released in 2010 by National Geographic Entertainment.
