Academic interests

I am interested in several aspects of morphology:

  • Convergent evolution: How predictable is phenotypic convergence?

  • Evolutionary constraints:  How is morphological diversity shaped by physical, developmental, and phylogenetic limitations?

  • Division of labor: What drives (or prohibits) phenotypic specialization of individuals in colonial organisms? Does division of labor truly increase efficiency / fitness?

  • Trait-Environment relationships: Which traits a linked to envirnomental conditions and why?
