The Algae Herbarium at the Botanical Museum, University of Oslo consists of ca. 10 000 specimens mainly from Norway, the Arctic and the Antarctic, both from freshwater and marine areas.
Ca 1200 specimens are Charophyceae, Norwegian and Swedish specimens (incl. the A. Langangen's collection). We also have a slide collection of differed prepared algae (mostly by E. Baardseth, J. Kiær, N. Wille).
